Sprint Triathlon has a Team 4Life Member

Team 4Life member Modesto Duran Riquelme recently placed second in his age group at the Campeonato de España de Triatlón Sprint—Altafulla 2013.

The race took place in a Mediterranean seaside village in the province of Tarragona, Spain. Modesto’s overall time was 58:47 with a 750 meter swim, 18.4 kilometer bike, and a 5 kilometer run. 1,200 athletes competed in the race overall.

Among the best athlete to ever emerge from his home country of Cuba, El Duque is a right-handed pitcher who started for the New York Yankees during the team’s run of three World Series championships from 1998 to 2000. Following his regular season in 1999, the American League Championship Series named him Most Valuable Player (MVP). In addition to his exceptional pitching, El Duque is known to fans and spectators the world over for his exceptionally high leg kick on the mound.

April 17, 2013, 4Life executives announced two new triathletes and cyclists to join the Team 4Life roster. Cyclist Modesto Duran Riquelme is from Barcelona, Spain. Mountain biker Ty Hopkins is from Provo, Utah, USA.

Both compete in numerous endurance sports. Modesto began his athletic career as a professional swimmer and enjoys championship performances in Catalunya, Spain, and throughout Europe. From high performance swimming, he took up water polo for the Natació Sabadell Club. In 2009, he completed the Barcelona-Maresme Ironman in eleven hours. In 2012, he competed in the Olympic Triathlon of Banyoles and Austria Ironman among other endurance events. On Saturday, September 15, President Steve Tew, Vice Presidents of Field Development Mark Petersen and Nathan Larsen joined Platinum International Diamonds Dr. Herminio Nevárez and Yadira Olivo, Juan and Damaris Rosado, and numerous Gold International Diamonds to introduce Super Bowl Champion Sam Madison as the newest member of Team 4Life. Madison, a four-time Pro-Bowler and three-time All-Pro, addressed thousands of 4Life distributors at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium in Miami, Florida.
